Long story short, Alpha Chi was a nightmare, so I am currently bouncing between housing situations. I'm currently home for the night. Tomorrow night/maybe sometime Monday I will be moving into a double room with an International student from Japan. I don't know if I'll be with her all semester or if I'll be able to get a single room soon. I'm going to call Housing services tomorrow and ask them a few questions, hopefully I'll remember to ask about that.

ALSO I got a job at the WU mail center! It's just 5 hours a week right now, from 8-9am in the morning Mon-Fri no less. But it's just sorting packages, so it shouldn't be that insane, and I will get money for it! I like money. Haha.

Susan Coromel seems really nice from the thirty minutes I spent talking to her yesterday, as do the rest of the theatre folks I met, which was about 5 people for about 2 minutes. But still, that's good.

In more sobering news I auditioned for women's choir at university today and ended up crying during the audition because I was sick and couldn't sightread well as a result. I hate singing while sick... she did say I "sang well for being sick" though, so I'm still optimistic. Especially since my impression is that the choir I was auditioning for is the easiest to get into.

Monday at noon I have auditions for Antigone. I should really be memorizing and perfecting that monologue... meh, I'll work on it tomorrow. It's really short anyway, I have like half of it memorized already. I'm more worried about getting better before then, since I do have to sing for the audition, and I'd prefer not to bawl in front of a prospective director.

Next weekend is Kumoricon! Today I got my Meryl cape in the mail from Alina -- it looks GLORIOUS. I think this may be the key to actually wearing my Meryl cosplay. I plan to wear it to Kumoricon on the first day. If I have time tomorrow I might see if I can find all of the parts and see how it all looks, maybe take some pictures. We shall see. For now, here is my...

Kumoricon Planning! )

Also, I have been doing some more Academic Planning... )

Luckily not much is happening in the world during this hectic time. No fabulous TV-only shows like SYTYCD. Ted Kennedy did die, though. Poor guy. Cancer sucks, man.

EDIT: So if I do end up taking Intermediate Japanese that means I won't be able to be in Voce Femminile anyway. Sooo there goes that worry. Hopefully I'll get into Antigone though so I can keep up my singing and such.

Ingrid Michaelson just came out with a new album! It's called Everybody.

Thanks for always knowing how I'm feeling, Ingrid.

This is my new favorite album. And at $7.99 for a limited time for 11 songs, a mini-documentary and a really pretty music video, it's definitely worth the buy.

In other news, yes, I've been rated as something else at [info]ratingtwilight -- a Vampire in their race theme! Despite my reassurance that I would prefer non-human prey, people thought my less than favorable opinion on most humans displayed Vampire-esque qualities.

Maybe it's because school is starting and I'm feeling bitter.

One more day until I go. As I say, yiggity yikes.

I did find a better monologue for my audition for Antigone, though. Now all I have to do is memorize it and perfect it before Monday.

No biggie.

I'm back!

I read Breaking Dawn.

Short opinion under the cut. )

I have a favorite play now. It's called Equivocation by Bill Cain.

I go to Willamette on Thursday morning. I'm probably going to come home for the weekend, though, unless someone convinces me not to.

According to [info]ratingtwilight, I am like Robert Pattinson and Nikki Reed as far as Twilight actors/actresses go. Obviously this makes me want more icons of them. If I am like Nikki, she can't be too bad. (I have yet to form a solid opinion.)

I had such a relaxing day today.

When I found out today would be a hot day, which was about a week ago, I decided I would go to the Lloyd Center mall to cool down. So I woke up at like 11, took a shower, and did my usual wake-up routine -- lots of checking lj and reading emails.

Then about two hours later I started getting ready to go. I was going to go to the library to return a book and get a book (both manga) first, then go to Subway, then head to the lloyd center. I decided today would be a good day to let my hair down. Then I decided to part it the other way.

Little did I know, my hair currently looks fabulous down. So, of course, I had to document the event.

See my good hair day under the cut. 8 pics. )

Once I got to the Lloyd Center I went directly to Barnes & Noble, where I proceeded to buy Breaking Dawn. Hardcover, special edition. Yeah, I went there. I haven't looked at the poster that comes with it yet, but I'm not even going to lie, I'm probably going to put it up in my dorm room when I get to college. Yeah, I'll go there.

I haven't started reading it yet because I want to save it for my Ashland trip. I am excited though. Oh yeah, I also caved in and bought an Edward/Bella bookmark, because I had previously been using a tiny ribbon which didn't really work very well. Plus I thought the bookmark was cute.

Anyway, I splurged on a slice of white chocolate raspberry cheesecake and some orange juice for dinner at like 3:30. It was good. And actually left me quite full until just now when I had some toast.

I also got about $75 worth of Old Navy stuff -- Dreamer jeans, cute dresses, blue flip flops. Funded by my mother, of course. They were kind of heavy taking home, though I got a cherry coke zero from 7-11 which helped the trek.

Then this evening I saw Paper Heart with Jessica, who got a job at her university library, which I am very happy about. My brother recently got a job too which makes me hopeful for my job at the mail center.

Paper Heart was ADORABLE. I was grinning the whole time. I absolutely loved it.

So, overall, an excellent day. Other things that happened: I got a seat by the ice rink at the lloyd center for once, AND no one bothered me on the max or the bus. My subway sandwich was made with just the right amount of pepper. AND I just remembered I have codes to enter on subwayfreshbuzz.com.

Goooood tiiiimes. :)

I leave for Ashland tomorrow at 2ish!

So before dinner my mom said to my dad, "So, I'm sorry dear, but I'm in love with President Obama."

My dad was like, "Alright."

While my brother exclaimed, "You're IN LOVE with him?!"

My mother later told me, "Just because you love a person it doesn't mean you want to be his wife girlfriend. There are different kinds of love."

My mom was really having a really hilarious day.

And now, a meme. From my new friend, [info]elliemoran!

1. Reply to this post with 'Icons!', and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will - allegedly - create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

She mostly chose my old icons. So there will be looong explanations. )

Fin.
